Secur is a specialist in the delivery of operational Backup, Recovery and Assurance architectures. Secur’s Storage Team uses its leading skills to deliver highly tuned, commercially robust architectures that are integrated into both physical and virtual environments. The ability to adhere to business unit requirements for Data Recovery Point and Time objectives is a fundamental assurance criteria, to ensure operational and business Service Levels are achieved.

Secur provides an analytics-driven, highly visual, policy-based data management solution that is highly scalable and commercially supported. The service/solution enables organisations to manage their data intelligently by identifying inactive data across a customer’s storage and transparently moving infrequently accessed data to cost-efficient options, such as cloud or object storage—all without any changes to user or application access.

The drive for more agile architectures, Data Center standardisation, flexibility and control, with the capabilities to offer relief to the enormous data volumes that an enterprise must deal with in today’s world.

Data Classification

Data classification is the process of organising data into categories for its most effective, efficient and compliant use. As a part of the Information Lifecycle Management process, data management policies are defined to determine – what data types are available, where is specific data located and what are the access levels that has been implemented. Validate the protection level (Backup, HA & DR) that has been implemented and confirm if it aligns to business compliance regulations.

Data Orchestration and Migration

Data Orchestration

A platform designed to abstract data access across storage systems, virtualise all the data, and present the data via standardised APIs with a global namespace to data-driven applications.

Data Migration

The process of transferring data between storage systems, data formats or computer systems. Data migration projects are done for numerous reasons, which include replacing or upgrading servers or storage equipment, moving data to third-party cloud providers, website consolidation, infrastructure maintenance, application or database migration, software upgrades, company mergers and data centre relocations.

Data Archive

Is the process of moving data that is no longer actively used to a separate storage device for long-term retention. Archive data consists of older data that remains important to the organisation or must be retained for future reference or regulatory and compliance reasons.

Data Availability

Is the process of ensuring that data is available to end-users and applications, when and where they need it. It defines the degree or extent to which data is readily usable along with the necessary IT and management procedures, tools and technologies required to enable, manage and continue to make data available.

Disaster Recovery

Disaster recovery is part of data availability planning and is developed in conjunction with a business continuity plan. Disaster recovery is a set of policies and procedures which focus on protecting an organisation from any significant effects in case of an adverse event, which may include cyberattacks, natural disasters or building and device failures. Disaster recovery helps in designing strategies that can restore hardware, applications and data within predefined Service Level Agreements and Objectives as dictated by business.
